The Punjabi Cuisines has a rich tradition of many distinct and local ways of cooking. Punjabi has a Special forms Tandoori cooking that is now famous in other part of India. The local cuisine of Punjab is heavily influenced by its agriculture and farming.
Punjabi Cuisines are known for its rich, buttery flavour along with extensive Vegetarian you Meat dishes. Main dishes includes Sarson ka Saag ( a Stew whose main Ingredient is mustard greens) and Makke ki Roti ( Flatbreads made with cornmeal).
Basmati rice is the indigenous variety of Punjab and many varieties of rice dishes have been developed with this variety.
Punjab is the major producer of wheat, rice and Dairy products . These products also forms a staple diet of the Punjabi People's.
Dairy products form an important component of Punjabi diet.
Clarified butter , Sunflower oil, paneer and butter are used in Punjabi cooking.
The Punjabi sweets are Gajar ka Halwa, Khoya, Kulfi, Malpua, Rabri,Semolina desserts,Sheer korma and many more.
