Maharashtra is known for its Culture and it's Traditions. Maharashtra is the second most largest state of India. Maharashtra has various different cuisines in different parts of the State. The main staple food of Maharashtrian people is Bhakti, Spiced cooked Vegetables, Dal and Rice. with this they also prefer having some Green chillies, Onions, and some garlics in their meals. Maharashtrian cuisines covers a range from mild to very spicy dishes. Wheat, Rice, Jowar Bakri, vegetables, lentils and fruits forms a staple Maharashtrian diet.
Some of the Cities of Maharashtra has its own special Cuisines, Such as Mumbai is famous it's street foods like Pav Bhaji, Vada Pav, Pani Puri, Bhel Puri and many more, Pune is famous for its Misal Pav, Puran Poli, Sabudana khichdi. Kholapur has its own special Non Veg Gravy called Tambda and Pandra rassa made with Mutton, chicken Fish or any other seafood. and the Kokan region is famous for its seafood cuisines.
Maharashtra has some delicious and tasty Sweets like
Puran Poli, Basundi, Aam Ras, Modaks, Karnjis, Shrikhand Puri, kaju Barfi, Coconut barfi many different types of ladoos which are prepared during festival seasons and during happy occasions. Maharashtrian cuisines is one of the most loved cuisines eaten by the people across India and other Countries.
